MOSCOW, December 4 — Moscow is ready to talk with Washington, but not to beg the American side to hold a summit with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his colleagues Donald trump, said the Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov at a press briefing.
“The Russian side is ready to talk, moreover, believes that these contacts at the highest level is extremely important. However, to beg the American side, so to speak, to intrude, we, in General, will not. Now everything depends on the Americans,” — said Ushakov.
However, he noted that the parties still exists some differences on some issues. “One of the specific subjects referred to trump in his Twitter when he refused to meet. Controversy has always been in the context of Soviet-American relations, then Russian-American relations. But it couldn’t hurt to hold serious conversations and share about equally serious results in strategic areas, security and so on,” he said.
“As we understand, the Americans – they have these contacts ready, but when and where will be the contacts, it is difficult to say,” — said Ushakov.
He also noted that now many media outlets are wondering whether this meeting or not, but, according to him, “you just have to hold such a meeting and all, but still does not work”. “Because, of course, contacts the so-called “legs” – they are very useful. But we need a serious conversation, and we’re not having this conversation, including in relation to Buenos Aires was ready,” — said Ushakov.
