WASHINGTON, 7 Nov – in the recent USA midterm elections, the Democratic party, forecast to have taken the Republicans control of the house of representatives but in the Senate the Republican party has managed not only to preserve but to strengthen its position, taking away space from their competitors.

Traditionally, in midterm elections the opposition wins, because voters — consciously or not — seek to counterbalance the influence of the ruling party. The Republicans had control of both houses of Congress and the White house that automatically puts them in a disadvantageous position.

As told by the Professor at American University in Washington and specialist in public administration David Lublin, the Democrats, gaining control of one of the two houses of Congress, will increase the pressure on President Donald trump.
