MOSCOW, 8 Nov — Russia cannot count on a quick normalization of relations with the United States, said Russian Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.
“We see no reason to expect that will happen to them (relations of the Russian Federation and the United States) a rapid improvement,” said Ryabkov told reporters.
According to Ryabkov, “unfortunately, politicians in the U.S., as those who sit in Congress and those who are part of the Executive branch, in recent years convinced myself absolutely crazy ideas about what the role of Russia in the world, are in captivity of their own illusions, cannot overcome the phantom pain.”
“They need to gather strength and think about what’s going on. In this situation, to count on the normalization, we can not” — said Deputy foreign Minister of the Russian Federation.
He added that Russia will continue to “patiently explain to our partners in Washington that this is not the way forward in the interests of their country, not just ours.”
