PRINCETON (USA), 30 Nov – Russia still supports the continuation of consultations with the United States to preserve the INF Treaty as one of the cornerstones of international security, said the Russian Ambassador in Washington Anatoly Antonov.
“The U.S. administration prefers to label only on Russia, accusing it of breaking contract. On their “retreats” prefers to remain silent. Firmly believe that if there is political will, a compromise can be found. We remain in favour of continuing consultations with the aim of preserving the INF Treaty as a cornerstone of international security,” Antonov said, speaking at Princeton University.
Earlier, the President of the United States Donald trump announced that Washington would withdraw from the Treaty on intermediate-range and shorter-range. According to him, America will increase its nuclear capability as long as the others “comes to her senses”, then Washington will be ready to stop this process and proceed to arms reduction. He explained that this message is addressed primarily to China and Russia.
