SHANGHAI, 5 Nov — US to impose sanctions to strangle competition, but in the end will hurt the American economy, says the head of the Russian government Dmitry Medvedev.

“Protectionism is, of course, poor phenomenon in the global economy. Protectionism has always been, but still mostly in previous years, the majority of countries adhered to the rules negotiated in the world trade organization,” Medvedev said during an online conference in the framework of the visit to China, answering questions from Internet users.

The Prime Minister stressed that Russia continues to believe that “nothing better of humanity in this area is not developed”.
