WASHINGTON, 2 Dec — the talks between the leaders of the US and China Donald trump and President XI Jinping held on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Argentina on Saturday night, ended with a relative success.

As reported in the White house, the Chinese President promised to rectify the situation with the trade imbalance and start to purchase significant volumes of agricultural and other goods from the US. Trump, in turn, agreed not to raise tariffs from 10% to 25% from 1 January, as previously threatened. But with a caveat: this will happen only if the parties reach agreement on a specific range of issues within 90 days.

In General, the US President noted that the meeting was “excellent and productive”, and the foreign Minister of China Wang Yi on the results of the reported intention of the leaders to exchange visits “in good time”.
