WASHINGTON, 5 Nov — US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said that the United States withdraw from under the Iranian sanctions project of the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
The fifth of November came into force the sanctions against Iran. The sanctions will cover primarily the export of oil. Washington has previously said it aims to bring Iranian oil exports down to zero and urged its customers to abandon the purchase. On Monday, the Finance Ministry said that the US is making in the sanctions list of more than 700 individuals, organizations, aircraft and ships to Iran.
“This is quite a complex area. There are three (of the project). Bushehr is one of the three,” Pompeo told reporters. He noted that this exception is temporary. Pompeo added that the United States will soon publish the list of all three projects in the field of peaceful energy that Washington will provide a temporary exception to the sanctions.
