BRUSSELS, Dec 1 — Alexander Shishlo. None of the member countries of the European Union has decided not to register a legal person on the basis of which will create a special financial mechanism to bypass US sanctions against Iran, said a diplomatic source in Brussels.
In September, the UK, Germany, France, China, Russia and Iran on the results of the Ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations in a joint statement announced that the EU will create a financial mechanism to support transactions with Iran after the imposition of US sanctions. The head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini in mid-November stated that the work on creation of the mechanism continues progressing positively, but the exact date is not called.
“Participation in the project is voluntary and, as far as I know, no one has yet taken the lead on registration. It remains an open question with the financial support,” — said the Agency interlocutor.
