WASHINGTON, 9 Oct — Ekaterina Sobol. The international monetary Fund (IMF) lowered its forecast for US GDP growth due to trade confrontation with China, said in a regular review of the world economy World Economic Outlook (WEO) for October.
The growth forecast for the US GDP in 2018 maintained at 2,9%, and in 2019 was reduced by 0.2 percentage points to 2.5%.
“Despite the current dynamics of demand, we have reduced our forecast growth in 2019 to the United States in connection with recently enacted duties on a wide range of imports from China and the response of China”, — said the chief economist of the International monetary Fund Maurice Obstfeld, commenting on the forecast.
