Democrats celebrate victory in the elections for the state of Michigan.
MOSCOW, 7 Nov — the results of the congressional elections showed that the political system in the US will be even more dysfunctional, so nothing good should not wait, says a senior researcher of the Center for analysis of international processes, MGIMO University, RIAC expert Maxim Suchkov.
On Tuesday, November 6, was held the mid-term elections in the U.S. Congress. According to the latest projections, the Republicans retained the majority in the U.S. Senate, securing at least 52 seats in the required 50, however, lost its majority in the house of representatives.
“Indeed, the election results confirmed the preliminary assessment that was yesterday. The Democrats got enough votes to form a majority, the Republicans, however, retained the Senate, it will not allow the Democrats to fully implement the agenda, including impeachment, about which they dreamed. But it’s enough to continue to sabotage and engage in the obstruction of the initiatives of the administration. The Democrats will seek to take key committees in the part which concerns Russia, foreign policy, the armed services Committee on intelligence and international Affairs,” said Suchkov.
