MOSCOW, 5 Dec — an ultimatum to the USA to Russia within two months returned to the implementation of the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range missiles (INF Treaty), may indicate the requirement to stop the production of operational-tactical missile complexes “Iskander”, said Wednesday the President of the Academy of geopolitical problems, doctor of military Sciences Konstantin Sivkov.
Earlier, the US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said that Russia has two months to return to the implementation of the INF Treaty. He added that if this does not happen, Washington will suspend obligations under the INF Treaty. The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova in response to the word Pompeo said that Moscow is strictly implementing the agreement, and Washington knows this.
“It’s not that other, as an ultimatum, implying that we turned to the production of missile complex “Iskander”. The United States under the guise of missile defense deployed in their forward areas install Mk-41, which can be used for launching Tomahawk missiles,” — said Sivkov, calling the ultimatum “unenforceable”.
