MOSCOW, 1 Nov — the Scrapping of the Treaty on intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty), which may be caused by the actions of the US, will be a very dangerous step, it is fraught with the risk of involvement of regions in a new arms race, said the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

“Scrapping the INF Treaty would be a very dangerous step, which will most adversely affect international security and strategic stability. Again, we note that it poses a serious risk of being drawn entire regions into an arms race. Thus, the situation around the Treaty concerns not only Russia and the United States, but also other members of the international community,” Zakharova said at the briefing.

Earlier, the President of the United States Donald trump announced that the United States would withdraw from the Treaty on intermediate-range and shorter-range. Trump said that America will increase its nuclear capability as long as the others “comes to her senses”, then Washington will be ready to stop this process and proceed to arms reduction. He explained that this message is addressed primarily to China and Russia.
