Male, suffering from obesity
MOSCOW, 29 Oct – One of the proteins, presumably contributing to the growth of cancer cells, proved to be very effective for the relief of excess weight, say scientists in an article published in the journal Scientific Reports.
“Only six doses of the protein BP3, which we introduced into mice for 18 days was enough to reduce the weight of their body fat more than a third. This substance, which previously was interested in the context of the fight against cancer, proved to be a powerful regulator of metabolism,” said Anton Wellstein (Anton Wellstein) from Georgetown University (USA).
According to current who data, in the world, since the 80s of last century, there is a global obesity epidemic. Last year, every third inhabitant of the globe, a total of 1.9 billion people, suffered from extra pounds, and around 15% are severe forms of obesity. About 47% of diseases, for example atherosclerosis, strokes, heart attacks, diabetes and cancer, are associated with similar metabolic disorders.
