MOSCOW, Nov 1 — Moscow at the meeting of the Council Russia-NATO has shown a willingness to quickly clarify the circumstances of the INF Treaty of concern to the United States, said the official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
“The Russian representatives stressed that Russia has an interest in ensuring the viability of the Treaty, the INF Treaty and is firmly committed to strictly comply with its provisions. Also emphasized readiness for the maximum and rapid clarification of the circumstances giving cause for concern the US expressed our many concerns with respect to the implementation of the Treaty by the American side,” Zakharova said at the briefing.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO will assess the implications for its security from the new missile Russia, but does not expect the allies as a response to the situation around the INF Treaty will be placed in Europe for more nuclear weapons.
