WASHINGTON, 10 Oct — US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo has said Iran supports terrorism throughout Europe, to be circulated statement.
“The authorities in Germany yesterday announced the extradition of Assadulla Asadi, an Iranian officer operating under diplomatic cover in Belgium for his role in an aborted Iranian terrorist plot to set off an explosion at a political rally near Paris, France, 30 June,” said Pompeo.
Pompeo reported that “the scale of this plot… reminds us that Iran remains the main sponsor of terrorism in the world.” “The plot also reveals the ongoing Iran supports terrorism throughout Europe. We support our European allies in identifying and countering the threat posed by Iranian-backed terrorism around the world. The United States will continue to work with our partners and allies to counter the threat posed by the Iranian regime,” he added.
