A briefing by Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov
MOSCOW, Nov 26 — none of the proposals of Russia on the INF Treaty, including by making it a multilateral character, has not been revoked and remains on the table, said on Monday Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.
“I wish to confirm that none of the proposals, which for years was put forward by Russia in relation to the improvement of the INF Treaty, including making it a multilateral character, none of them was withdrawn, they’re all on the table,” Ryabkov said at a briefing.
Earlier, the President of the United States Donald trump announced that Washington would withdraw from the Treaty on intermediate-range and shorter-range. According to him, America will increase its nuclear capability as long as the others “comes to her senses”, then Washington will be ready to stop this process and proceed to arms reduction. He explained that this message is addressed primarily to China and Russia. Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow wants to get more detailed explanations from the United States, and added that the scrapping of the provisions of the INF Treaty would force Russia to take measures to ensure security. The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that any action in this field will meet.
