Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
TEL AVIV, 18 Nov — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked the US for voting against the UN resolution condemning the occupation of the Golan heights and reiterated that they will remain forever in the hands of the Jewish state.
The Americans on Friday for the first time did not abstain in the discussion document, regularly updated by the fourth Committee of the General Assembly, and supported Israel.
“On Thursday, US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, informed me of the decision of the United States to vote against the traditional resolution condemning us presence on the Golan. And this, indeed, happened,” said Netanyahu at Sunday’s Cabinet meeting.
