MOSCOW, 3 Dec — US President Donald trump sent a letter to Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan asking for assistance in the peace process in Afghanistan, reports Geo TV.
According to the channel, Imran Khan said at a meeting with journalists about the receipt of a letter from the American President on Monday. The Prime Minister said that in it, trump asks Pakistan to play its role in the peace process and also help to encourage the Taliban to sit at the table of peace talks with the Afghan government.
Trump has previously supported the decision of his administration to refuse to issue funds to Pakistan, saying that Islamabad is not doing anything for US. He added that Pakistan helped the leader of the terrorist group “al-Qaeda”* (banned in Russia) Osama bin Laden hiding in the country.
