MOSCOW, 28 Oct — the United States, if they decided to withdraw from the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty), must report that they intend to do in the field of arms control, non-transparency and lack of control is unacceptable, said Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald trump said that the United States intends to withdraw from the INF Treaty. According to him, the United States will increase its nuclear capability as long as the others “comes to her senses”, then Washington will be ready to stop this process and even to proceed to arms reduction.

“The President of Russia Vladimir Putin very clearly said that we understand that it is their decision that we can’t have these decisions to influence. The arguments we expressed hope that in making their decisions, they still remembered our arguments”, — said the head of the Russian foreign Ministry.

“But once they decide thus output of the “turnover” of all international legal instruments in the field of arms control, let them say that they are going to do in this area. Just uncontrollably, untransparently, so that no one again did not know what others are doing, this is wrong. (Assistant to the national security of the US President John – ed.), Bolton said no, that they understand that we need transparency, a degree of trust and predictability,” said Lavrov in an interview to the program “Moscow. According to him, the Americans ask for the INF Treaty, why can not engage China, India, Pakistan and Iran. “Eight or nine years ago, maybe ten, in 2007-2008, we Americans proposed to the UN to all countries that possess intermediate-range and shorter-range, to join the Treaty and make it universal. The response was negative. Honestly, we didn’t expect, but still wanted to use all possibilities for universalization”, — Lavrov reminded.

As the Minister noted, the Russian side said that Bolton has to say about the restraint in strategic and non-strategic weapons of any country you need with the appropriate state.
