MOSCOW, 9 Oct — the Governor of the U.S. state of Alabama Kay Ivey announced the introduction of a state of emergency in connection with approach of hurricane Michael.
“I declared a state of emergency due to expected large-scale interruption of electricity supply and destruction caused by gusty winds and heavy rains from hurricane “Michael” — posted by ivy on Twitter.
In turn, the Governor of Florida Rick Scott announced the evacuation in a number of districts in the state, urging residents to monitor the alerts of the Center for emergency management and to evacuate when appropriate guidelines. According to the National center for U.S. monitoring hurricanes (NHC), hurricane Michael is now about 400 kilometers from the southern part of Florida.
